In my role as a costume designer, I designed and created the costumes which took on a character of their own for this cast-written clown play set in the fictional world of Glamora.
Theatrical Stage Costume Design:
Responsibilities included:
• Responsible for creative costume design, theatrical costume shop management, stage make-up, and craft artistry.
• Directed & delegated tasks for an 8-person costume shop team, guiding and training as needed
• Managed all cutting, draping, patternmaking, sewing and alterations, garment pulling, laundry, & dying costumes
• Hand and industrial machine sewing
• Conducted fittings with actors across a diverse range of sizes and fits/body types
Attended all run-throughs and final rehearsals to determine costume comfort and quick-change feasibility and made adjustments accordingly
• Designed Costumes for “The Emperor’s New Clothes”- a clown play Spring 2006, as an invited undergraduate designer
