CORSETRY:
From Ashes To Eden
Collection

A collection of corset, bustier, and corset-inspired garments, constructed by hand and industrial machinery.

From Ashes To Eden comprised of a series of hand-built hand-cut custom leather corsetry, dip-dyed skirts, mixed textures, and accessories inspired by gothic art and the symphonic metal subculture based on the concept of the unattainable return to perfection. The symbolism of the collection is evident in the color scheme and restriction of traditional corsetry.

Playing upon the dichotomy of dark vs. light, good vs. evil and the colors ranging from freshly drawn blood to blood-stained maroon, the collection was designed and constructed by me over the span of 8 months. Portions of the garments were partially or fully dyed including a full 3-circle skirt that was hand dip-dyed to achieve the stunning ombre look.

Extensive effort was placed on quality leatherwork, fully-lining, and interlining and boning the garments with sprung steel for strong and timeless structure and construction. Although the garments are not production-friendly or meant for mass production, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire process from design conception to execution. No animals were harmed in the making of this video/photoshoot.
