Apparel Design:
Dickies-Men's Icon,
2016-2021
In my time at Dickies, I designed and developed tops, bottoms, coveralls, fleece, and outerwear assortments from design through production, and gained responsibility for the highest volume product category - men’s bottoms, comprising over 40% of the business.
Garments shown include men's tops (including plaid layout and design), bottoms, coveralls, and outerwear. Additional items will be released and added to this grouping as they are made public, as the majority of my work is still protected under standard industry NDA.
Responsibilities included:
• Sketched 3D prototypes in Browzwear Lotta, technical flats in Adobe Illustrator, and plaid layouts in Kaledo
• Researched and presented seasonal trend concepts and competitive shopping analysis to cross-functional team
• Presented concept for cross-brand VF Workwear subscription box to Senior Management with support from Consumer Insights, DTC, and analytics
• Created trend reports and finalized assortment layouts and sketch decks in Adobe InDesign
• Collaborated with cross-functional team from sketch pass through to fit/PP/production
• Communicated design intent in fittings and directed sample room for concept sample creation
• Developed custom trims - buttons, heat seals, labels, patches, zipper pulls, and waistband treatments
• Streamlined tech pack and BOM/trim processes
• Directed product development on construction quality, details, fabric, washes, and trims for all sampling
• Attended Milliken mill visit to grow knowledge of fabric and production processes
• Achieved consistent 100% accuracy on the Farnsworth-Munsell Color Hue Test
